Methodology

We evaluated 12 dating apps in January 2026 across 8 burnout-reduction factors: swipe mechanics, profile depth, daily time commitment, ghosting rates, match-to-date conversion, algorithm transparency, user quality, and hidden time costs. Burnout scores (1–10) are composites of all factors — lower is better. Apps were tested with free-tier accounts over 30 days in a major US metro area. "Our Pick" badges go to apps that actively reduce dating fatigue through design choices, not just lower prices.
